Michael Denmeade, director of therapeutic recreation at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor, received the Governor’s Award as Professional of the Year at the Brain Injury Association of Vermont’s annual conference. The association called him “that rare individual who exhibits knowledge and compassion in equal measure.’’ Denmeade said he was humbled to be honored, given the good work of so many professionals in the field.
