Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine has been in existence for over 2000 years. In TCM, Chi, or energy circulating in the body through channels called Meridians, is responsible for the maintenance of good health. If the Chi does not circulate smoothly through the body or there is too much or too little Chi in a part of the body, then disease may occur. For centuries, practitioners of TCM have been researching and refining the skills and knowledge of these healing therapies including herbal medicine, acupuncture, oriental dietetics, and physiotherapy, as well as Chi Gong and Tui Na (Chinese Massage).
