The National Institutes of Health defines complementary and alternative medicine as health care practices and products that are not generally part of “conventional medicine” practiced by MDs, DOs, and allied health professionals such as physical therapists, psychologists and registered nurses.
At Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, we want our patients to have choices when seeking health care, and have developed relationships with complementary and alternative medicine practitioners to provide services to Mt. Ascutney patients. Having options in both conventional and complementary medicine allows our patients to take advantage of the benefits offered by both in their health care.
Complementary therapies such as acupuncture, holistic psychotherapy, naturopathic medicine and others are available on an outpatient basis at the Healing Arts Clinic in Windsor, and on an inpatient basis at Mt. Ascutney Hospital.
