Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center

Gifts & Support

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center is strengthened by the passionate commitment and support of our community.

We are truly grateful to the many individuals and organizations that give up their time and money to support Mt. Ascutney. Donations to our Annual Fund help us meet urgent needs. Gifts to our endowment grow and provide support over many years. Gifts in memory or honor a loved one support patient services. Funds for capital improvements enable the very best technology and services.

Each year, the Hospital Auxiliary makes a generous gift to support vital programs and services at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center. Dedicated Auxiliary members contribute through fundraising events and working in the hospital's gift shop, The Lobby Stop. Annual events like the MAH Classic Golf Tournament also engage many in our community, and provide important support for new equipment and resources.

In many ways and events throughout the year, our community supports our mission to provide the highest level of health care and improve the lives of those we serve.

Thank you. We couldn’t do it without you.

Ways To Give

Thank you for your interest in supporting Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center. In today's challenging healthcare environment, private charitable support is needed now more than ever. Your donations are vital in helping us meet our mission to improve the lives of those we serve. Without community support, this Hospital might never have existed, and in the eight decades since we opened our doors on Main Street in Windsor, friends and neighbors from throughout the region have maintained that support. For this, we are truly grateful. With your help, we can continue to provide the highest level of health care possible, right here close to home. We are ready to serve whenever you need us.

What are the different ways I can make a gift?

  • Online
  • Cash  Click here to download the Giving form. Gifts can be made by cash or check and mailed to the Development Office at:
Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center
    289 County Road
    Windsor, VT 05089
  • Securities
The benefits of a gift of securities are two-fold: The full market value of the asset is usually tax deductible and capital gains taxes may be avoided. Gifts of securities may be transferred electronically by one’s broker directly to the Hospital.  Please contact the Development Office at (802) 674-7321 for delivery and wire instructions.
  • Tangible Assets, Real Estate, Personal Property
Real estate and other types of personal property, including automobiles, boats, campers, works of art, antiques and collectibles, etc., may be contributed as provided by law.
  • Estate, Legacy and Planned Gifts
Bequests are always welcome.  Charitable remainder trusts, charitable gift annuities, gifts from IRA or retirement accounts, life insurance, and several other types of “planned gifts” are accepted by Mt. Ascutney Hospital.  All of these gifts can be tailored to meet donors’ personal and financial goals and designated to support areas of donor interest that support the Hospital’s mission.

Donors who advise the Hospital of their intentions to make estate or other planned gifts are welcomed into the Hospital’s Fran Fenn Planned Giving Society.

What are the different programs I can donate to?

  • Annual Fund
Support where it is most needed.  Unrestricted giving allows the Hospital’s leadership the greatest flexibility in directing funds to areas of greatest current need.
  • Restricted Gifts
Outright gifts as well as planned gifts may be designated by the donor to support a specific program, medical department or service, or other area of the hospital that have special interest or meaning for the donor.
  • Memorial or Honor Gifts
Any gift, whether unrestricted or restricted, can be made in memory or in honor of an individual, or given in recognition of a special life event such as a birthday or anniversary.  In such cases, the Hospital will notify the appropriate parties (e.g. next of kin or living honorees) when these types of gifts are received.
  • Hospital Endowment
Gifts to help build the Hospital’s endowment are always welcome because they help support the hospital in perpetuity.  Such gifts may be made to the unrestricted endowment or can be used to create a Named Fund within the endowment.  Endowment gifts may be restricted by donors for special donor-designated purposes consistent with the mission of the Hospital.  In such instances, donors are encouraged to contact the Development Office to discuss their intentions in order to assure that the Hospital can honor the donors’ wishes and will receive maximum benefit from their gift.
  • Capital/Facility Improvements
Monies will be directed towards capital equipment or building needs.  Capital gifts may be made to support the general capital budget of the Hospital, or for designated capital purposes, including major equipment or technology acquisitions and updates.  Donors interested in discussing the Hospital’s capital and facilities improvement plans and needs are encouraged to contact the CEO, Dr. Jospeh L. Perras, at (802) 674-7255, or the Development Office at (802) 674-7321.
  • MAH Classic Golf Tournament
Proceeds from this annual event, which dates back to the first Chick Miller Memorial Tournament in 1983, may be directed to the Hospital’s Annual Fund or towards a specific purpose which is designated as a priority goal for that year’s Tournament.

  • Special Events
A variety of events take place throughout the course of the year which provide opportunities to support the Hospital financially and as an event volunteer.  Community support and participation are essential to the success of these endeavors.  The Development team at the Hospital is eager to work with outside groups or individuals who may wish to develop their own events in support of the Hospital.
