In December 1999, Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center celebrated the completion of the Miller Therapeutic Pool, the only pool of its kind in the State of Vermont. The pool was named in honor of long-time hospital supporters "Chick" and Olive Miller.

There are many benefits of aquatic therapy. The weightless environment enables patients to perform exercises that are too painful or impossible to perform on land. Warm water temperatures of 88-94 degrees help relax joints and limbs making it easier to exercise with little or no discomfort. Aquatic Therapy has been successfully used to treat many conditions including neurological disorders, orthopaedic and postoperative conditions, chronic pain, and cardiopulmonary disease.

In addition to providing inpatient and outpatient physical therapy and rehabilitation, the Miller Therapeutic Pool offers many community-based programs.
