WINDSOR, VT – The Governing Boards at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) and Dartmouth-Hitchcock (D-H) have approved an affiliation between the two organizations, extending and deepening an already strong relationship between the two health care providers.
Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) will once again offer flu vaccinations to help residents of the Upper Valley avoid the physical discomfort of flu season. But to help residents avoid waiting in line, MAHHC now offers express appointments during regular business hours on designated flu shot days.
Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, a not-for-profit Critical Access Hospital located in Windsor, Vermont, has received a $12,500 gift from the Mt. Ascutney Hospital Auxiliary. The donation was presented to the Hospital’s President, CEO and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Joseph Perras, at the Auxiliary’s annual appreciation luncheon held in the Hospital’s boardroom on June 29. The donation was used to help purchase twelve new Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), which have been deployed throughout Mt. Ascutney Hospital and its Ottauquechee Health Center in Woodstock, Vermont.
With food insecurity a pressing problem for many people in Windsor county, Rachel’s Kitchen free breakfast program at the United Methodist Church in Windsor, Vermont, provided an important source of nutritious breakfast for local people until a lack of funding and volunteers forced it to close its doors in late May 2018. Recognizing the importance of the program to health and wellness for those it serves, Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has joined with a group of committed local organizations to quickly re-establish this vital community resource.

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) is pleased to announce that board-certified cardiologist Dr. Shawn M. Ahmad has joined the Hospital’s growing team of specialist providers. Dr. Ahmad will provide initial cardiology consultations and follow-up appointments on an outpatient basis at the Hospital’s primary care clinic. His focus is on diagnostic cardiology and noninvasive treatment, with cardiac procedures being referred to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC).

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) is pleased to announce that Leesa Taft, APN has been appointed to the position of Associate Medical Director, effective Sunday, September 24, 2017.
In this newly created role, Taft will serve as a member of the Primary Care management team and clinical team leader for Internal Medicine at the Windsor practice. She will also oversee clinical practice for nurse practitioners and physician assistants, in addition to continuing her role as a primary care provider.

Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) is pleased to announce that pediatricians Dr. Michael Kilcullen and Dr. Patricia Staley of Ottauquechee Health Center (OHC) in Woodstock, Vermont will be recognized at a special event on the playground of the Woodstock Elementary School on Saturday, October 7 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. The event is open to the public and is an opportunity to commemorate the successful career of Dr. Kilcullen and welcome Dr. Staley to the area.
