Rosemary Dougherty, NP joins medical staff at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center

Rosemary Dougherty, a board-certified family nurse practitioner with more than 18 years experience, has joined the medical nursing staff at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC). Most recently, Rosemary worked in a health center in Maine; she has also served as director and primary nurse practitioner for a New Hampshire university health service. 

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center Announces Joseph Perras, MD as New Chief Executive Officer

Joseph Perras, MD, has been named Chief Executive Officer of Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC). The appointment follows months of collaborative work between the MAHHC Board of Trustees and senior leadership of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health (D-HH) to determine the right leadership for the Hospital. Dr. Perras’ appointment was approved by the Boards of both MAHHC and D-HH on Monday, December 12. He will assume the CEO position effective January 11, 2017.

Mt. Ascutney Hospital introduces MRI Imaging Services at Ottauquechee Health Center

MRI technology is an effective diagnostic tool that lets doctors “see” what’s going on inside the body for faster, more accurate diagnoses of tumors, internal injuries and other medical problems.

MRIs have revolutionized the world of medicine, but the technology isn’t available in every community, which is why Mt. Ascutney Hospital has made introduction of the service to the greater Woodstock area one of its top development goals this year.

Gay Landstrom Named Interim CEO at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center

Gay L. Landstrom, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, has been named interim Chief Executive Officer of Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC).

Landstrom, who serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock health system, will serve temporarily while MAHHC conducts a search for a successor to Kevin W. Donovan, who was named CEO at LRGHealthcare in Laconia, NH, on May 4. Donovan will leave Mt. Ascutney Hospital on June 15, 2016.

Deanna Orfanidis, RN, named Interim Chief Nursing Officer at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center

Kevin W. Donovan, President and CEO of Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has announced the appointment of Deanna Orfanidis, RN to the position of Interim Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center. Ms. Orfanidis had previously been Associate Chief Nursing Officer for Orthopaedics and other service lines at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (DH). 

Jennifer Connors, MD joins medical staff at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center

WINDSOR, VT – Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center recently announced that Jennifer Connors, MD, has joined the Hospital’s medical staff as Director of Psychicatric Services.  Dr. Connors is a general psychiatrist with extensive experience in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry. She assesses and treats the mental health care needs of patients and their families. She has treated from her private practice and within the network of community mental health centers throughout Vermont and New Hampshire.

Calling all artists: Mt. Ascutney Hospital receives grant to purchase original art for patient rooms

WINDSOR, VT – Thanks to a grant from the Susan Sebastian Foundation of Waterbury, Vermont, Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center recently announced plans to purchase original artwork for display in all 35 of the Hospital’s patient rooms. Individual artists and photographers are invited to submit work for a juried exhibit and sale that will be held at both the Hospital in Windsor and at the Hospital’s Ottauquechee Health Center (OHC) in Woodstock VT. Deadline for submission of work is 5:00 PM on Monday, November 2nd.
