Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center & Dartmouth-Hitchcock Governing Boards Approve Affiliation Agreement

WINDSOR, VT – The Governing Boards at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) and Dartmouth-Hitchcock (D-H) have approved an affiliation between the two organizations, extending and deepening an already strong relationship between the two health care providers.

Leesa Taft, DNP, ARNP, FNP-BC named as Director of Clinical Operations in Primary Care at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has announced that Leesa Taft, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), and Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP-BC) has been appointed to the newly created position of Director of Clinical Operations in Primary Care.

Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center Earns National Certification

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) announced that the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at its Rehabilitation Center has earned a certification from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). This three-year certification recognizes MAHHC’s commitment to improving the quality of life by enhancing standards of care.

Wide-Bore MRI Technology Comes to Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has announced the addition of a wide-bore Espree 1.5 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner. The unit will be available on-site at the Hospital campus in Windsor, Vermont every other Monday starting January 14, 2019. The wide-bore MRI will join the closed-bore MRI, which is at MAHHC every Thursday.

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center Announces Otelah Perry, MS, MT, MB, CMQOE as Director of Quality, Patient Safety, and Compliance

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, (MAHHC) has named Otelah Perry, MS, MT, MB, CMQOE as its new Director of Quality, Patient Safety, and Compliance. The position, created in 2016, is part of the Hospital’s Senior Leadership Team, with Perry reporting to Dr. Joseph Perras, President, CEO, and Chief Medical Officer.

As Director of Quality, Patient Safety, and Compliance, Perry is responsible for the administration of quality and patient safety initiatives, and ensuring compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations.

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center flu clinics help keep local communities healthier this season

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) will once again offer flu vaccinations to help residents of the Upper Valley avoid the physical discomfort of flu season. But to help residents avoid waiting in line, MAHHC now offers express appointments during regular business hours on designated flu shot days.

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center Receives $12,500 Auxiliary Gift toward Defibrillator Purchase

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, a not-for-profit Critical Access Hospital located in Windsor, Vermont, has received a $12,500 gift from the Mt. Ascutney Hospital Auxiliary. The donation was presented to the Hospital’s President, CEO and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Joseph Perras, at the Auxiliary’s annual appreciation luncheon held in the Hospital’s boardroom on June 29. The donation was used to help purchase twelve new Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), which have been deployed throughout Mt. Ascutney Hospital and its Ottauquechee Health Center in Woodstock, Vermont.

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center joins community effort to restart Rachel’s Kitchen breakfast program, appeals to donors and volunteers

With food insecurity a pressing problem for many people in Windsor county, Rachel’s Kitchen free breakfast program at the United Methodist Church in Windsor, Vermont, provided an important source of nutritious breakfast for local people until a lack of funding and volunteers forced it to close its doors in late May 2018. Recognizing the importance of the program to health and wellness for those it serves, Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has joined with a group of committed local organizations to quickly re-establish this vital community resource.

With the MAH Classic now less than two weeks away, Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) in Windsor, Vermont and Ottauquechee Health Center (OHC) in Woodstock, Vermont are pleased to announce a new feature of their 2018 MAH Classic Auction.
