The suite enhances support for critically ill patients and their families
WINDSOR, VT – Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, a nonprofit community hospital, held a ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday to commemorate the expansion and enhancement of the Hospital’s hospice suite. The new facility offers patients comprehensive, medical, social and spiritual care during their final days. The hospice suite features newly designed patient rooms with state-of-the-art medical support equipment. It also has upgraded amenities for family members including a separate lounge with a sofa that converts into a bed for comfortable extended or overnight visits and a private outdoor patio to enable patients and visitors to enjoy the outside environment.
“At Mt Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, we are dedicated to providing hospice patients with state-of-the art care, but in a setting that is more supportive of family members confronting the impending loss of a loved one,” stated Kevin Donovan, CEO of Mt. Ascutney Hospital. “The new suite provides patients with a team of doctors, nurses, therapists, social workers, volunteers, and spiritual counselors whose collective goal is to maintain both the patient’s quality of life and the family’s overall wellbeing.”
