Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center Employees Complete Nationwide Wellness Initiative

WINDSOR, VT – Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, a nonprofit community hospital, recently honored four of its employees for achieving the highest level in the Virgin HealthMiles Pedometer Program. In its second year of this partnership, the Pedometer Program is a year‐long initiative designed to help employees at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and companies nationwide achieve their wellness goals through a five‐tier program. Mt. Ascutney Hospital employees Carol Morin, Mary Jane Desmarais, Candy Miller and Emily Miller finished the program and ranked highly among participants across the nation.
 
The Virgin HealthMiles Pedometer Program provides organizations with a toolset they can share with employees to help promote an active and engaged lifestyle. As employees participate and reach milestones within the program they earn HealthMiles and redeem them for prizes and cash rewards. To‐date, over 200 Mt. Ascutney Hospital employees are registered in the ongoing wellness program. “At Mt. Ascutney, we have a continuing commitment to improve the health and wellness of both our community and our employees,” stated CEO of Mt. Ascutney Hospital Kevin Donovan. “This program is just one of many that will help improve our worksite culture and I am proud of the many employees who take advantage of these wonderful initiatives.”

Founded in 1933, Mt. Ascutney Hospital is a critical access hospital in Windsor, VT and features 25 inpatient, medical‐surgical beds, a renowned, 10‐bed inpatient rehabilitation unit and a 25‐bed, 5‐star awardwinning Skilled Nursing Facility.
