WINDSOR, VT – Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center and Ottauquechee Health Center have announced they will begin using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) known as eChart. With this program, Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Ottauquechee Health Center will be able to safely and securely store detailed health information in an electronic database which can be viewed, updated and shared among physicians, medical staff and other electronically connected providers to better manage and coordinate patients’ healthcare.
In accordance with HIPAA privacy standards, eChart allows Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Ottauquechee Health Center staff to seamlessly share patient records including family medical history, immunizations, allergies, medications, past diagnoses and treatments. In addition, lab results and copies of digital tests such as MRIs will be stored and viewed. By using eChart, Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Ottauquchee Health Center will also improve the efficiency and accuracy of administrative tasks such as billing and reimbursement.
“eChart is a powerful new addition to our already effective and personalized care,” stated Kevin W. Donovan, CEO of Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center. “We ask that our patients bear with us as we transition into the Electronic Health Record because it will allow us to take the next step in our mission to improve the lives of those we serve.”
