Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has named Stephen Weeks Employee of the Month for April, 2017. Weeks, a member of MAHHC’s Maintenance/Security staff, is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all flooring throughout the Hospital, including hard and carpeted surfaces.
According to Joe Martaniuk, Director of Plant Operations “Steve is our ‘go-to’ guy for everything involving floor maintenance, but he does so much more than that. Late at night, Steve mans a key security position and ensures that all Hospital employees and patients are safe by checking doors. He also monitors our heating and cooling systems to keep a comfortable temperature throughout the Hospital. Steve also keeps our sidewalks clear for our patients and employees during snow and ice storms.”
Because Steve works at night, few people are aware of how significantly he affects the Hospital’s operations. “But those shiny waxed floors and freshly shampooed carpets didn’t magically appear,” said Martaniuk. “Steve is the man who makes it all happen. And that’s why we are so pleased to name him our MAHHC Employee of the Month.”
Weeks joined the MAHHC staff in 2015 and lives in Windsor, VT.
