Sean O’Brien, PA-C, a member of the medical staff at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, was recently elected President of the Physician Assistant Academy of Vermont (PAAV). O’Brien, who joined the staff at MAHHC in 2015, is a 2012 graduate of Franklin Pierce University in Lebanon, NH where he earned a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies, and also served as president of his class.
Recently, Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) recognized 38 employees who have collectively served the Hospital for more than 550 years. Staff members were honored at a special Employee Service Awards dinner in the Hospital’s café, where MAHHC Interim President Gay Landstrom personally thanked them for their contributions and commitment to the Hospital, its patients and the community.
Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has named Robin Oates, RN, as Employee of the Month for August 2016. Oates is a medical/surgical nurse who has worked at the Hospital since 2014. Colleagues praised her professional expertise, her compassion and her commitment to patient care.
Liz Sheehan, RN, has been named Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) Employee of the Month for July, 2016.
Sheehan heads the nursing staff at Ottauquechee Health Center (OHC) and was cited by Anel Sirois, CMA Nurse Manager/Clinical Leader for her hard work and dedication to the staff and patients at OHC.
Cynthia Ashe has been named Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) Employee of the Month for June, 2016.
Ashe, who has worked as a secretary in the Surgical Specialties office since 2012, was cited for her excellent job performance and outstanding patient service.
Amber (Bedi) Cutler, Marketing and Public Relations Manager with Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Care in Windsor, VT, has successfully completed the Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations, entitling her to use the APR professional designation. The announcement was made by the Universal Accreditation Board (UAB), a consortium of nine professional communication organizations that directs this competency certification program.
Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center has been named one of America’s “Most Wired” hospitals by the American Hospital Association (AHA) in recognition of its successful adoption of information technology (IT) to enhance clinical performance.
The 18th annual Most Wired list appears in the July 2016 issue of Hospitals & Health Networks magazine, an AHA publication. All hospitals on the list have demonstrated a strong commitment to using IT resources to improve their operational, financial, and clinical services.
Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has selected Tammie Neilsen as Employee of the Month for May. Neilsen, who has worked as a phlebotomist in the Hospital’s laboratory for six years, was cited by her supervisor Erik Schutz, Laboratory Manager at Mt. Ascutney Hospital, for her professional skill and congeniality.
Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has selected Emily Miller, RN, as Employee of the Month for March. In her role as referral coordinator for MAHHC, Miller assists institutions, patients and families in arranging admission to the Hospital.
Sean C. O’Brien, PA-C, recently transitioned to a full-time staff position at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center. Previously he had been a per-diem staff member at MAHHC and worked for several years at the Dartmouth College Student Health Service.
