Maurice G. Paquette, MPAS, PA-C, of Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC), has been nationally recognized for earning a specialty credential called a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Paquette earned a CAQ in Emergency Medicine, for which he met specific education, experience and licensure requirements and also successfully passed a national exam in the specialty.
Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has named Stephen Weeks Employee of the Month for April, 2017. Weeks, a member of MAHHC’s Maintenance/Security staff, is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all flooring throughout the Hospital, including hard and carpeted surfaces.
Ruth Doiron, RN, has been named Employee of the Month at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC). “Ruth is a respected, dependable member of our care team,” said Kim Ambrose, Nurse Manager. “She is always willing to help her colleagues, and is warm and understanding with patients. We are very fortunate to have Ruth on our team and are happy to see her receive the recognition she deserves.”
Doiron joined the nursing staff at MAHHC in 2010. She lives in Windsor, VT.
The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality, has awarded Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) Level 3 Recognition – the highest level attainable – as a Patient Centered Medical HomeTM (PCMH TM). This is third consecutive time the hospital has earned NCQA recognition.
For many years, Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has honored individual employees for outstanding performance with its Employee of the Month award. But guidelines for the award have always allowed for a team nomination as well.
The Hospital is pleased to announce its first team nomination of caregivers. For February 2017, MAHHC is honoring its Pediatric Nurse team, with the Hospital’s Employee of Month Award.
Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has named James Newhall, who works in the Hospital’s Housekeeping Department, as Employee of the Month for January, 2017.
Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has named Patricia “Crikett” French the Hospital’s Employee of the Month for December, 2016. French, a Certified Medical Assistant, was cited for her positive energy and willingness to go “the extra mile” to help both patients and providers.
Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has named Lori Perron Employee of the Month for November, 2016. Perron is the lead switchboard operator at the Hospital, and was nominated in recognition of her work excellence.
Sean O’Brien, PA-C, a member of the medical staff at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, was recently elected President of the Physician Assistant Academy of Vermont (PAAV). O’Brien, who joined the staff at MAHHC in 2015, is a 2012 graduate of Franklin Pierce University in Lebanon, NH where he earned a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies, and also served as president of his class.
Recently, Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) recognized 38 employees who have collectively served the Hospital for more than 550 years. Staff members were honored at a special Employee Service Awards dinner in the Hospital’s café, where MAHHC Interim President Gay Landstrom personally thanked them for their contributions and commitment to the Hospital, its patients and the community.
