Outpatient Nutrition Counseling

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center has an established service for outpatient nutrition counseling. Our staff of dedicated professionals will help you learn about eating a healthier diet so that you can achieve your health care goals.

Prevention

An apple a day keeps the doctor away should be updated to include five fruits and vegetables a day. What you eat, your weight, and whether you exercise regularly has been shown to directly affect your risk of many diseases. Diabetes, heart disease and some forms of cancer may be prevented with a healthy diet.

Medical Nutrition Therapy

Part of the treatment for many diseases is following a special eating plan. If you have diabetes, heart disease or other conditions, medical nutrition therapy can help you manage your disease. Each meal and snack plan is developed with your health care goals in mind and is an individualized plan tailored to your lifestyle.

Fees for appointments may be covered by your insurance, but you may receive service regardless of your ability to pay.

The Outpatient Nutrition Counseling office is staffed by a registered Dietitian, and is located at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center.
