Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC), a Dartmouth Health member, has named Laura Swett, Senior Clinical Secretary, MAHHC’s Employee of the Month for September 2026. MAHHC recognizes employees who consistently exceed expectations with reliability and daily dedication to their work.
As a Senior Clinical Secretary at the Ottauquechee Health Center, Laura is responsible for managing clinical secretary staff schedules, overseeing daily operations to maintain adequate coverage, maintaining order and efficiency within the secretary pool, and acting as a liaison to the Practice Manager. She spends most of her days greeting patients, making requested referral appointments, performing final insurance-related duties, answering telephones, determining the nature of patient calls, providing requested information, scheduling appointments for the patient to see the appropriate physician/healthcare provider, and verifying demographic and insurance information in accordance with policies and procedures.
Her nominator, Ashley Cole, said, "Laura is always ensuring that the day-to-day runs smoothly here at OHC. She is kind and welcoming to any staff member who may need an extra hand. The patients here know her by name and feel at ease knowing she can offer support when needed. Laura is a great candidate for this recognition, as she goes above and beyond and is an exceptional staff member.”
