The DAISY Award

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) is proud to be a DAISY Award Hospital partner. The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the skillful compassionate care nurses and nurse leaders provide every day.

The DAISY Award is an international recognition program started in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. Pat's family experienced first-hand the difference his nurses made in his care through clinical excellence and outstanding compassionate care. The family created The DAISY Award to express gratitude to nurses and to enable other patients, families, and staff to thank and honor their special nurses.

Please visit The DAISY Foundation website to learn more about Pat's story and how The DAISY Award recognizes Extraordinary Nurses.

DAISY Awards honor Registered Nurses, while P.E.T.A.L.S. (Professional Extraordinaires That Always Lend Support) Awards honor those who partner with nurses to provide exceptional care, including LPNs, LNAs, and CMAs. Nurses and nursing assistants may be nominated by patients, families, and colleagues.

Please say thank you by sharing your story of how a MAHHC nurse made a difference you will never forget!
