Interim Chief Medical Officer
As Interim Chief Medical Officer, a position he assumed in July 2023, Dr. Herbert Ip oversees the clinical care and team of healthcare providers at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Ottaquechee Health Center to ensure the delivery of safe, effective medical services.
Dr. Ip is a Hospitalist who is board certified in Internal Medicine. He received his medical degree from University College Dublin of the National University of Ireland, and completed his residency at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts, where he was also a Chief Medical Resident. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians as well as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians Canada.
In addition, Dr. Ip serves on several committees within Mt. Ascutney Hospital and across Dartmouth Health. He continues to enjoy working with students from Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, and his clinical interests involve antibiotic stewardship and utilization management.
Dr. Ip joined the MAHHC staff in 2014.
