Winfield "Win" Brown

Winfield "Win" Brown serves as the Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC), a position he assumed starting in July, 2023.

In his work as a healthcare administrator, he seeks to build collaborative teams and effective processes focused on quality, service, and financial results, driven by a passion for improving the health status of the communities he serves. Prior to joining MAHHC, Brown served as President and CEO of Heywood Healthcare in Gardner, Massachusetts for 12 years, which included Heywood and Athol Hospitals, the 90-member Heywood Medical Group, and the Quabbin Retreat, a behavioral health campus. Prior to that he was Vice President, Administration for Lowell General Hospital (now part of Tufts Medicine) in Lowell, MA; Vice President, Marketing, Planning & Development for Northern Berkshire Healthcare in North Adams, MA, and Executive Director and Vice President of the Sisters of Charity Foundation (now St. Mary's Health System) in Lewiston, ME.

Before entering the healthcare field, he worked in philanthropy, for University of Maine Foundation, Maine Community Foundation, and Gould Academy. Brown is a graduate of Bates College in Lewiston, ME, where he earned a BA in Economics. He also holds a Master of Science in Business from Husson College (now Husson University) in Bangor, ME, and a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota.

Born and raised in Maine, Brown is a resident of Grantham, New Hampshire, where he lives with his wife Wendy, who is a behavioral health therapist, and their 5-year-old standard poodle Happy. Brown and Wendy have two adult daughters; Kali, a history teacher, and Anya, a student at The College of the Holy Cross.
